It was a long cherished dream and wish of mine
to get seriously involved in teaching medicine to medical students. It has been 2 decades since I started practicing medicine as a specialist
(2001-2021).
It's the inspiration from all seniors and the passion to learn that has made me an efficient Physician.
During my training days in Osmania medical college, Hyderabad, I was keen to learn and more
importantly apply the knowledge in managing patients.
I was fortunate just like many of my friends to have had excellent teachers in those days. They had commitment to teach and they sincerely taught us the subject of Medicine in a way which we still remember today. I can name a few great teachers like Dr. Somaraju, Cardiologist, Dr. Krishnam raju, Cardiologist, Dr. B.K.Sahay, Physician, Dr. Manohar Physician. Their teaching certainly helped us become what we are today. I was also fortunate to work with some eminent clinicians like Dr. Ashfaq Hasan, Pulmonologist, Dr. Dinaker Physician, Dr. R. Vijay Kumar Pulmonologist and many great respiratory physicians in the UK.
It’s the inspiration from all seniors and the passion to learn that has made me an efficient Physician. Without my mentors, my gurus and the inspiration it would have been a hard journey.
I wish to give the same to all young and aspiring doctors who are seeking for proper knowledge and guidance. It is important to carry forward the legacy of good clinical practices to the future generations. It is with this intention that we have set out to contribute whatever way we can in making a difference in medical education.
We have introduced M & T classes (Mentoring & Tutoring) by Dr. Praveen as our first initiative from 1st January 2021 and I am glad to say that the final year students who attended the sessions found them very useful. We intend to carry on with these classes and subsequently introduce PLAB, NEET PG and MRCP courses in near future. We shall post important medical information about common diseases and interesting case studies too on our website. Anything and everything which can make you a good clinician will be attempted by us. It’s a common notion amongst students that they can have fun and enjoy for major part of the final year of MBBS and subsequently sit down to study 3 to 4 months before exams. I remember doing something similar but I knew I was wrong. Final year of MBBS is the perfect time to build your concepts and knowledge of medical practice, it helps you choose your future goals and career. So, spare a little time to learn, study, practice and also have fun during rest of the time. I keep hearing from many students about their desire to learn but they are lacking due to insufficient teaching or poor quality of teaching. You can no longer say so if you choose to join the academy and attend the M & T classes.
We established ExMed medical academy in the month of March 2021 to focus on delivering quality medical education through online classes and courses. Along with me, we have a team of doctors who are highly trained from India and abroad. They have enormous knowledge and clinical experience, above all, good teaching skills. They have the interest and passion to teach and guide. There is so much to learn, practice and learn again. Our patients are our greatest teachers and we just need to be humble enough to commit ourselves to learning.
So, please join us in our journey to provide excellent medical education at ExMed Medical academy.
